With all of the P4 hullabaloo that's been on RO for months-on-end, AMD systems have rarely been mentioned. It's late and I'm tired, but I've been wanting to post this, so I'll be brief.

I have the chance of being a local studio's computer tech. Apparantly, they can use their computers just fine for recording, but when something goes wrong they are completely lost. I think they are using Macs cause they use Pro Tools, and this is where my problem is.

OK...as I am going through this "wonder" that I call re-wiring my studio using a patchbay, I have found one cable that I would like to have made that I am a bit unclear about how to design.

how about comparing pro's and cons of a couple of daw's, for instance Pro Tools vs fairlight, soundscape vs nuendo etc. :w:

I'm just starting to dip my feet in the waters of MIDI sound modules and I wanted to know people's opinions on what is hot and what is not in the world of modules. We have a Yamaha SY-99 connected to a Roland JV1080 at our school and it's pretty sweet...but I want to know what else is out there, good and why.

Is it safe to go for a wireles keyboard-mouse for your DAW ? Will it add noise to the recordings?

I've done the mistake of having my Cellular Phone
close to the computor... and got some unpleasant sounds on the recorded wav's.

I just want to be on the safe side here.

Has anyone tried to use a Pro Tools Mix system
on a PC with XP installed? Digidesign says that they have come across no problems yet, but they haven't finished testing. Any info would be cool. Thanks
