I've been shopping around looking at the stand-alone units, and I like the feel and layout of the VS1880. I've also been looking hard at the Yamaha AW-4416.

I read on another forum that the G4 733 is now $1,700 - from $3,500..Anyone know about this?. What's up?

Well, I've broken down and purchased GigStudio 160. This is after about 2 years of thinking about getting it. When I started thinking about getting it, I bought a PC (I'm a Mac guy) and now that PC (P2, 350) is 2 years old. I think this machine will work OK for smaller polyphony loads but we're not going to be using it to do, say, the Magic Flute.

Im just starting to acquire some high-end gear in my Project Studio. Im slowly weeding out the names like Alesis and Mackie, and Replacing them with names like Pro-tools and Focustrite. . Anyways. One thing Im not sure of is my D/A Converters. At the moment Im running Pro-tools Le (the digi 001) set up. If I buy a stand alone D/A converter, will I notice a different.

Is t/dif equipped hardware compatible with sp/dif equipped hardware ?

(my questions refers to 01v's t/dif to go into digi001's sp/dif) :eek:

Like most of us here I have been building my gear arsinal for some time. I now have a really fine collection of mics, preamps, compressors, equalization, and a/d/a conversion. So the time has come to get rid of the weakest link in the chain, that wink leak being the mixing console.

Anyone here sat down with this console? The idea of it sounds great, but the all important quetion. how does it sound?

Anyone out there using this? I'm wondering what kind of latency you're getting? I think the PCI-324 is a great, versatile card, but the none of the drivers are achieving useable latency under Win 98se (70ms). And, I'm not changing OS.

Are there any other company's out there that sell customized DAW's besides Drastik solutions and and wave digital? I'm looking to by a computer with digi-001 already built into it. If someone has bought a p.c. from the company's mentioned above, have you had any problems with there products?
