Sorry for this stupid question. I'm completely new at this. Can anybody tell me how to get the internal effects to go to AUX1?

hey, i record with a at2020 usb condenser microphone and i notice that when i record vocals(with Audacity) i am too loud to the point where it clips or am too low where i can barely hear myself.so my question is,is their a certain software that will monitor the recording to keep it from clipping and going to low in sound? Or do i have to deal with it and use EQ?thanks.

Currently I am using a Delta 44 audio card. Do you think it would be worth the money to "upgrade" to a Lynx card? Would I be able to actually hear a noticeable difference?

I've been doing the sound mixing for a band who are about to embark on their first tour - Universities, festivals and a couple of support gigs.

I am currently recording my own songs in my home studio. I play finger style acoustic with some rhythmic slapping with my thumb. So my guitar tracks have an obvious slapping sound throughout. It sounds cool on an acoustic recording but i am worried that when the song is fully produced (drums and all) it will just sound like noise.

more than 90percent of the time i use plugins to do mixes. what my question is...

say i put a limiter on a track, so the levels stay below clipping, but on the compressor that is also on the track, is clipping. does this matter? should i try to also keep my compressor under clipping level even though the main track is not clipping? thank you.

I have had a small studio set up for editing purposes only (no recording), using PT8 LE/Mbox 2. I've since upgraded to PT9, since I need to work on higher resolution session files (96Khz+) that I record in the studio. The Mbox2 allows only up to 48Khz files, so I need to find another option to connect my monitors.

Has anyone else experienced an odd problem with "the grand" piano VSTi from steinberg where there is a high pitch ringing overtone (not clipping, static) on the lower register b-flat and b keys? (happens on recording and blaybackIt sounds just like mic feedback. Eliminating the ambience, hammer-release settings, etc..

Lots of discussion of brands of basic mic cable in the archives, but I can't find any discussion of preferred brands of snake cable. Hardware recommendations would also be a help. I'm looking into making a 24 channel fan to breakout box, and maybe a couple of xlrf-xlrm subsnakes. I'd appreciate any help with brands and suppliers.

AAAAARGH! Yet another plugin that makes me feel forced to buy a UAD-2. It's a shame I can't run this with my UAD-1e. It sounds pretty convincing to me. LARC and all. I want this one.
