This is probably very basic for most of you, but i need help trying to setup up my TC Electronic finalizer. Im using 002 rack with pt8. Im mainly trying to send the main stereo output to the finalizer and bring it back in to my pt session for mastering purposes.

i am considering buying a new interface my budget is 400$ i am looking at the Tascam US-1641 or the Tascam us-1800 i have read negative things about both but they are in my price range so i just need to know which is more stable or if there is another choice for the $ range i need at least 8 channels

Hope everyone is doing well. I have a question for some of ya:

I have a session with a zillion tracks and many with all sorts of fader volume automation.

Im running into some red in my master bus and am concerned about too many peaks when I bounce down the session.

What's good? I'm adding a drive to my PC specifically for audio'record. Currently have a WD Caviar Black 500gb for OS & a Caviar Black 1t for samples. For audio/record looking at adding a 74gb WD raptor @10,000rpm. Am I thinking right in using this faster drive for recording to?

i am new to inter faces i was kinda dumb and bought a Alesis multi mix 6 thinking i could have 6 sepperate channels in my software i was gonna do a guitar and mic at the same time but it all comes out in one mono channel in my software does the Tascam us-1800 come out like that 2 >?

Can anyone recommend Some good reading material relating to audio engineering? I have a book by Bob Katz which I like. I'm fine with goin crazy buying books on Amazon however I thought I would see if I could garner any opinions here first.

I'm specifically looking for modern material related to recording/mic techniques, use of 'effects', and mixing techniques.

I realize that this is probably the wrong forum, but I just think this deserves to be at the top of the page.

Has anyone sent their mics in to Oktavamod? I'm thinking about purchasing their upgrade to my old MXL and Oktavamod condensers, as they get no use in my studio.

I would appreciate hearing about anyone's experiences with them.
