Attenuators with transformer preamps, a good idea ?
Forums
Hi gang,
You know I own a few Focusrite ISA preamps. I'm considering buying a few attenuators to allow me to drive the transformer a bit harder and try to pull out a bit more mojo.
I currently record tracks with a peak range between -18db to -10db (on the preamp and on the DAW).
Looper pedal vs DAW repeat
Forums
I haven't played much on a loop pedal and I know I can just loop a phrase on my DAW Logic Pro and play over it but I seem to remember it being a lot more FUN playing with a looper pedal.
Does anyone find that a looper pedal is more fun than playing over a repeated loop on software on a computer?

Question about recording my band
Forums
This Saturday my band is playing live for a concert. There is 1 drummer (electronic kit), 1 bass, 1 electric guitar, 1 keyboard and 2 vocalists. I'd like to record a multitrack performance but I'm unsure how to properly do that.

No phantom power from Scarlett Solo 1st gen
Forums
Hello.
I just bought an AKG P220 and wanted to try recording with my Focusrite Scarlett solo. But I don't get any sound from it. When I connect my Shure SM58, the recording works just fine. The 48V switch is on. And the Scarlett is connected via a USB hub which also has its own power supply.
Can be the problem in the XLR cable?

Using a pre-made drum beats by Toontrack
Forums
Hey Guys, I've always had cocky shoulder when it came to using other peoples drum beats and said to myself if Im going to make a song I will use my own drum beat. But just recently I tired using a pre-made drum beat in ToonTrack for a starting block for my piece and it sounds so much better than anything I could come up with. I feel like it's cheap and it's not fair. But music is music right?
