Starting a home studio bit of help with interface usage. Thanks

Hey, I am by no means new to the recording of music. I have however been away from it for a few years.

I was wondering, to record into logic i am more than aware i need an interface. Can i just get a jack like rack mount interface and use XLR to jack cables and record straight into Logic? Or, do i need a mixing desk for the mics to go into that then goes into the interface?

Programs to break songs down to there original tracks?

Hey everyone I'm fairly new to the audio engeneering scene a bit over half a year now apprenticeing under a local audio tech. And trying to get my foot in the door and its going pretty well got a job doing sound at a bar a couple nights a week and even met a few bands there that want me to tech for them. Problems getting floor toms to sound "big" in recording

I about to start recording a band in which the drummer has 2 huge floor toms, 16X18 and 18x18. They sound really great in the room, but when they record they sound like someone hitting a bucket with a notebook on top, no resonance and no fundamental. I am using Audix D2 mics on the top on their D-vice clamps about 2 inches up and pointed at the impact point.

Building a Home Studo and have a few question about my recording gear

Hey everyone, I have been recording on a computer and in my room for a while and will now be starting construction on an actual home studio soon and would like to go over my gear and fill in any gaps i might have. Once construction is done I want to set up and get it up and running as fast as possible.

In Need Of Help- Removing cracking/popping Sounds.

Hello There!

I have my tracks already recorded and am doing the touch ups.
I'm working in Logic Pro 8.

There are around 5 small glitchy cracks that occur throughout the song. Im sure its common enough. Could you please tell me how in this program I can remove them. Perhaps there are multiple different ways.

Tascam FW-1082 S/PDIF transmission - in mono/one channel?

Hi Folks, Thats my first post, so hello to everybody. I need help in one case: I used to use Tascam FW-1082 as a DAW controller and audio card as well. Last days I've tried to change my audio configuration, so it looks in that way now: WinXp, DAW (Cubase) - firewire connection to Firewire 410 - SPDIF Out to SPDIF In at Tascam (coax) - Tascam Analog Out(L+R) to active monitors.
