We have all been there, booking studio time then when the day comes we end up working out parts & dealing with issues that should have been taken care of before hand. The clock is ticking in the studio and money being used that could have been saved or used for what it was intended for… tracking the magic.

Here are some tips to make the most use of your studio time:

I have a DAW system with a MIDI keyboard for musical input. It also has a hardware synth ("ROMpler") module in the chain. The keyboard is a Roland A90EX, and the synth is a Roland JV-2080.

I just purchase the Yamaha HS 80's and the matching HS 10W sub.
It looks like the connections on the back of the sub your able to connect both monitors
and then go out of the Sub into a stereo channel of the Mackie Big Knob.

Can someone define the term Flanks?

My wife is finishing a Medical Transcriptionist course and needs an audio cleaner for some of the recordings. They often come with a lot of background noise or are of low quality. I'm asking your advice on what software would be best for the job.

Has anyone got any experience using multiple interfaces (2 8 channels devices, 1 Mackie and 1 MOTU 828) linked S-PDIF? Is S-PDIF a universal data format such that any hardware that speaks it can talk and/or pass data if I need to record 16 channels using CUBASE?

I'm running a guitar rig thats two 2x12 cabinets, one on top of the other, then a wooden rack case containing a Boss GT-PRO and an MXR1500 on top of it, and then finally my amp on top of that.
