Has anyone ever used a homemade subkick for recording bass drum I was thinking about building one and was trying to get some Imput on it

I want to design and build a cab for an Eminence Patriot 12" speaker, and I already have the internal dimensions plotted out.

If I design a 1x12 cab, will it sound thin or lackluster compared to a 2x12? Also, how hard is it to get good tone from a home-built design? I understand some acoustics and definitely understand the wood construction techniques.

Hey guys I am creating a small recording studio in my room. I have no equipment right now except a computer and no absoulutely nothing about creating music. My budget is around $200. I was wondering if this set up would work.

I'm not sure if this is the right area to post this, so, if it's not, I apologize...

I am starting to build amps, and I would like to record how they sound. I am mainly building high gain amps, with metal in mind. I currently use a Peavey Valveking cab (ugh, getting a cab with V30s soon), a Shure SM58 into an XLR to 1/4 inch adapter (quality loss) into my laptop's mic in. Running Ubuntu Loonix, using Audacity. Using a Schecter Damien FR with EMG 81/60.

Need advice on this. When I adjust the volume on my FireBox I get crackling in my Left monitor. If I swap the cables at the FireBox outputs the crackling switches sides. I thought that it was a cable issue, but the cables have been replaced and the crackling remains. I contacted PreSonus about this and they said that the master pot is bad.

OK I have a M-audio Delta 1010lt pci soundcard {8x8 unbalanced analog Ins/Outs,2 mic preamps or line inputs},ART Tube Mp project series/48v phantom power as my mic preamp,AKG perception 220 Condenser Mic.My question is, How do I set this up with least amount of hum noise, or any type of noise that will come from the mic input on my delta soundcard,which has a built in preamp,and the artube prea

I own (2) EX-29s (broken), (1) HD-280 (bad cable), (2) MDR-7506 (one has busted ear pad), and (1) K-240s (my personal headphones).

So this discussion is for cans under $100, preferably $25-$50.

In the pro studios do they record keyboard through fancy high-endinstrument preamps (like Avalon) and EQ (like Manley) or not?
Or is it more about mixing and mastering that gives techno music that in-your-face sound?
