Im a bit confused about audio interfaces. If you get a mixer without firewire,usb does that mean it doesnt have a interface? and how do pick the right one for your mixer?

I understand the basic concepts of these two parameters, but what I cannot understand is how one decides what settings to use in recording. My naive intuition tells me that if a CD is limited to 16/44.1, and if the songs being recorded are going to go to CD, then there is no benefit to recording at any higher rate.

I need a good B3 plugin or rackmount.

I also have Sonar/Cakewalk on a PC to access samples (EWQLSO, Vienna Instr, EW Choirs, Stormdrum etc), acting as a giant midi module. Might be moving to Vienna Ensemble Pro soon.

I was wondering if someone could give me advice. I want to set-up my own recording set-up at home as recording sessions at the studio are just way too expensive and I like to take my time. I currently produce music through the use of Cubase and would like to record vocals into the Cubase program.

I got Cubase 5... running thru a Tascam US-1641 to 2 Alesis studio monitors. butttt when i enable the 2 measure click before recording or enable a click track to play nothing happens. if i use the 2 measure click thing, it waits but theres no sound. sometimes if i just click around in the song it will let out 1 big loud click, but thats all. what happened and how do i fix it?

Recently I decided to record some acoustic tracks in n-track, and while my pick up seems to work on my amp it won't even pick up the sound on my interface and barely on my boss br-1200. The pick up is Dean markley. I think it might not meet some type of weird power requirement kinda of like a phantom powered mic, but then again I'm new to this.
