Low-priced portable recorder with high line-in level capabil

ity - does such a thing exist? I know the Edirol R-09HR can do about 1V (+2 dBu IIRC), but it's a little more than I would like to pay, and I would like even more voltage if possible.

Would prefer a lossless recording format but MP3 or ATRAC is not a dealbreaker for me.

Anything like QLab for PC?

Hi all! I'm looking for software like Q Lab, for running audio for a live theater production. Basically, we have about a dozen audio pieces to drop into the live action, and were looking for a better way to trigger those (as opposed to running a CD player through the board and dealing with that!). We would just use Q Lab, but don't have a Mac available for the shows, only an Intel laptop.

New Computer - Pick it apart

Okay...so my first on location computer was a cool little micro ATX in an Antec Aria. It worked great (still does - I use it in my studio as the main machine). However, it's pretty far from quiet and it is a pain to haul around. Plus, adding extra cards - nah...there are 3 slots available and if I fill more than 2, the thing MAJORLY overheats...

Emulator X3 Sampler

I've been waiting for this mother for close to a year now, had a PC configured just for the thing, am running two macs at present. Is the X3 available in
the states/ US . because it is not in the UK yet. Not even a 2009
NAMM video on youtube to look at...strange. Emailed Emu /Creative long
ago, got no response...please give me some info from across the pond or

Uploading to Myspace.

I'll bet this has been covered before but UTFSF helped me find nothing.

When I upload songs to my Myspace something in the conversion, data compression or a codec or something, does weird things to the recordings. But it's not all the time. Anybody know what's up there? Sample rate or bit rates or something I ought to change? Something I ought to convert to before uploading?
