Im considering on getting Digidesign 003 factory... ill be using pro tools for mixing and putting it all together. for the production i was thinking of Ableton since ive read that it comes with pro tools and used it couple of times pretty straight forward for me. ive been using logic pro for the last little while and I'm getting used to it and like it.

My current setup includes...Mackie hr824 monitors...Universal Audio la610 Chanel strip...and a Mackie 24/8 mixer run through a Delta 1010 rack (pci) soundcard with pro tools m powered.

umm...first off, in Logic I'm not able to set the box as my recording device AND use my computer's headphone jack as a monitor? I need to use the boxes headphone jack?

I just recorded two guitar tracks DI and panned one left and one right. One didn't work, I panned it left and it worked. Panned it back right, and it was silent. IDK I'm scratching my head over here.

Ok, so I am 100% new to this, but I am in a basement band (we prefer it to the garage) and my friend/fellow guitarist has some pretty decent equipment. Currently we record in his basement, but it's all one track and takes multiple tries to get everything balanced the way we want, not to mention the quality isn't great.

Recording a band live to stereo in a basement. After putting together all our mics, and Micing everything (DI for bass and keys) except for two overheads for drums and two guitar cabs, we are left with a pair of SM57's and a pair of SM58's.

...is it better to use a shockmount over a standard mount?

I want to see what other think about the Se Electronics reflection filter. I hear it works well but, mainly from guys who already have an iso booth set up. What'd you guys think of it that have used it?
