That moment when...
You're sitting in the studio working on a mix. Playing with the panning of a track to sit it where you hear it... and nothing is happening. Hmm you think, what THE HELL!, well, helps if you send to the main outs instead of to a BUS, unless you're going to pan the BUS. Somewhere at some point, I must have either seen a video, or someone told me that was a way to process a track..

Excellent Mississippi Blues Documentary
i saw this a few minutes ago and watched it straight through. Just really transparent and an amazing glimpse into the reality of these songs. These men are certainly a piece of music history.

Couple vids about Jack Whites vinyl press plant.
this showed up on my feed, maybe you've seen them. They're pretty cool. Especially, I liked how they pressed flowers into one record, and made a Carl Segan recording glow. (Vid 2) Super cool stuff they've got going on.

Early Rane SM26 schematic
Hi All... I am new to the group and hope someone may be able to help. I have an early Rane SM26 on my bench and in need of a schematic. This unit does not use 7815 type voltage regulators but does have the power supply integral to the unit. Since Rane was bought out (by In Music Brands I think) information has been a bit more difficult to obtain.

Linux Compatibility for Sonar 8.5 Producer's
Many moons ago, I won a contest from recording.org for a copy of Sonar 8.5 Producer's edition. I have been happily running the software on a Windows 7 desktop.
That machine has gone on to a better place so now I am putting together a new desktop. I am looking into running a Linux system (but may just do a dual OS install for audio).
Hardware set up for live discussion recorded for Podcast
I'm looking to buy a bunch of audio equipment for amplifying/recording live talks in front of an audience.
I want to be able to record each mic as it's own .wav file (into my laptop using Adobe Audition or similar) before sending it to the PA so I can separately adjust gain during the live performance without affecting the recording.
Stage PA Amp 101 question
I have a stereo amplifier. It's a really powerful Ashly that is nice sounding. (Not really important to this topic). Being that it has two channels, can I run a mono mix to front of house (two speakers only @ 8 ohms) on one side of the amp. .And run stage monitors on the other channel ? I have a sneaky suspicion its ok as long as my ohm load is equal on both channels. Or, am I wrong.

Turn off Auto-Rewind in Digital Performer 7.24
I use Digital Performer 7.24 for the Mac.
When I hit spacebar, the vertical line cursor stops. So I can see where I stopped and start again from that point or insert a marker.
