Swirling noise during recording.
Forums
Hi all,
I'm just trying to do some basic recording at home, with a mic running from my laptop to my guitar amp. When i record though, I'm getting this swirling, hollow sound on the recordings.
Is there a way to get rid of it or prevent it?
Cheers
Bicko.

Home studio upstart(i've done research, not mindless ?'s)
Forums
Hello and thank you for taking the time to read my post.
I am looking to start up my own little studio in my home, vocals, guitar, bass and drums perhaps a little down the road.
I would like a midi port for keyboard.
I have looked into a bunch of interfaces, the mbox 2, Tascam 1641, the Tascam 1082 and the firebox.
I cannot nail it down to a single one.
Headphone amp, should be in tracking or control room?
Forums
As different vocalist needs different headphone volume/reverb while tracking,
are these parameter can be changed by the vocalist in tracking room by putting some gears(like headphone amp, mixer...) in it?
Or these should be controlled by the engineer in control room?
If by the vocalist,
what equipment should I need to do this purpose?
Depth and height perception in the mix
Forums
Hey Guys,
I was wondering if anybody has any tips or tricks when it comes to creating the illusion of height and or special placements for instruments and vocals within the realms of a stereo mix. I thought it would be interesting to see what angles you have on this subject.

Run TV Through PA?
Forums
Ive been asked to host some football games as part of a DJ gig I have, and I would like to run the audio from the TV through my PA. Ive got a Yamaha MG166CX mixer but I cant figure out how to make this work. I tried taking the red/white/yellow cable (like you use on your vcr to tv) and used the red/white going into CH 13/14, but it wouldnt come through the speakers.

Drum loop for Drum dubbing
Forums
Hello!
I recently realized a lot of drummers play to loops rather than just a click track. This makes a lot of sense, it gives a lot more pockets for the drummer to play to, and makes editing drums a lot easier.
I was wanting to ask, what is the recommended way of going about this without having to sequence an entire drum track ? I would prefer arranging loops instead.
