question about track level

Hi I finally got my new macbook pro and moto 8 pre and have just today tried a bit of recording just to get used to it. I am at the moment using garage band. I have a question about track levels. In Garage Band when I select a track to record there is a slider for input level or an option of clicking the automatic level control.

KVM switches, 2 computers, one monitor, suggestions?

I have a gaming machine/audio machine and I'm finally putting down some money for a Mac Pro (as my dedicated DAW) and keeping my PC as a gaming/internet build.

I'm looking for a reliable KVM switch (a switch that allows me to have one monitor display, yet have 2 computers hooked up to it simultaneous so I can switch back and forth but leave them both on).

I am just starting out and need advice

Hi I am just starting out and need some advice. I am about to record a CD for a band. The band plays pop/rock and I am just starting into recording. I want a really good sound, thats really important! I was woundering what equitment you would recommend? Money is no issue to a certain extent.

I was thinking of a Neumann u87, is that a good mic?
If anythings better let me know

is there a DAW for Logic?

hey guys,

I use Logic Pro Studio and connect through my PreSonus Firepod interface.

What I'm wondering is if there's a digital audio workstation (as i understand them to be called) available for Logic?

Basically I just want to have a mixer that can control the faders within Logic, kinda like a Digi002 station for Protools. Anything like this exist?

bouncing problem?

Hi there,

I'm editing and mixing sound using PT LE 6.4 alongside the ye olde' DIGI 001. All is well generally but if I bounce out a mix that I'm happy with I've noticed that if I import what I've just bounced out back in the highest peaks seem lower on the bounced out mix than what I've got in the edit. The regular/mid level stuff seems exact.
