Hello, I just have a Tascam m30 for very low money and I would like to clean it up.
The Lights are OK, Most of the channels are good except one and a bus which are very very low! (Are they dead?)

There is some dust on the console and I believe, inside...

Hey everyone, question about monitors here:

Now this subject is not a "which one sounds better" because we all know that every set of ears has a preference and that there are good companies and bad companies. This is more of a "What company has a better reputation of a good product".

I am I crazy, does my new PC actually make Nuendo sound better?

I went from a PC with a single 2.2Ghz Pent 400FSB chip and 1 Gig of ram to a quad core (3.0Ghz, 1333FSB) and 4 gigs of ram.

I swear mixes sound clearer and its eaiser to get things sounding right.

Is it is possible the PC is making this difference?

I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with these.

A friend went to NAMM and said this thing sounded amazing.

Alright, so I just listened to a really rough mix in my car of a song I've been working on for a few days, and I noticed that the cymbals in the song, almost all the highs actually, were really shrill almost to the point of being unlistenable. The whole song is also rather thin sounding. This is contrary to how everything was sounding coming out of my monitors.

I couldn't think of anything other than "strange files"... because this is just simply too weird.

I'm having a great deal of difficulty trying to mix some tracks I recently recorded. I use a PreSonus Firepod connected to my Windows XP PC. I use Adobe Audition to track and edit.

Does anyone have experience recording the musical saw? I'm going to be recording my grandfather-in-law (playthesaw.com). I''m thinking to approach it like a string instrument (violin), possibly cascade fathead(s) or blue bluebird.

What do you all think?

I am trying to set up a home voice-over recording studio and am looking for opinions and advice on the equipment. My budget for hardware is about $1000.00, the rest will be used for sound treatment etc. what are your thoughts on the following?
Mic AT4040
Monitors – M-Audio B5xa or KRK Rokit RP5 or ?
Interface – Mbox Mini or Edirol UA-25 or ?

It looks like I'm going to invest in a small PA soon and I really don't know much about them. I know what sort of things I need, so I'll try to explain them in as much detail as possible.
