Looking for Virtual Instrument with GM support

I've got MIDI drum loop that I would like to use as a guide track. I am looking for virtual instrument that will be able to play it. I am not interested in resource hungry samplers with huge libraries, 'cause I need it as a guide only. Windows Media Player plays midi file using GM module in the soundcard. I just want to do the same but through VST or RTAS instrument. Please advice!

Which make of laptop for live audio recording

Ok so I’ve kind of had the Mac or Pc question answered and decided to go for windows because it has loads of software that is compatible.

But what make of computer do we go for? Dell, hp, alien wear or any others you can think of. .

Would be great if you could tell us what you use..I haven’t a clue where to start to get the best price and the most reliability. .
