I am currently mixing my own bands album and have a query regards getting the lead vocal as big as possible in a certain section.

The section in question is a loud guitar / angry hammond organ based chorus that starts with a 4 way vox harmony for the first word then breaking down to a single vocal line for the remainder and repeat.

Hey guys! I'm looking for a good/great preamp to suit my vocals well. In another thread a lot of guys preferred I get a dynamic mic instead of a condenser due to the type of vocals I record; rap. I'm currently looking at the Focusrite ISA One which is about $499.99. Mics that were suggested are: Shure Beta 58A & Sennheiser e835 (plan on getting both).

I have a small room 5 X 5 feet with foam on the walls and ceiling in that room is my GT50 mic, LCD monitor and keyboard going out to pc in adjacent room. Plan on purchasing the Universal Audio Solo/610 Microphone Preamp! As well as a mic in the price range of $600-$1200! The mic is the last thing I'll get due to me not knowing which one I actually want.

Hello all. I've recently purchased a Tascam DP-008 to records a few songs and I purchased a Shure SM58 mic along with it. I transferred my vocal track onto my computer and loaded it onto Audacity and it sounded really bad as in lifeless, dull, and dampened.

Hey Guys,

How can I set to where I can hear my voice when recording in Sonar 8? There is a button that does this on the audio track next to mute, solo etc. but it has such a delay that it is useless. If anyone knows a different way to hear myself or how to fix the delay please help.
