do you guys use a pop screen when recording vocals with a dynamic microphone?

such as the sm57? got a friend coming in who insists on using the sm57 for recording his voice and i've never recorded vocals with it before. should i let him sing right on top of the mic with his lips touching the grill like he does at live shows? or should i try to get him to back off 6 inches or so like with condensers ? should i use a pop screen?

recording tricks of 1980's, MPC 60 sync fireface 800 to DAW vocals and guitar

Man do I need help here. I've tried to get used to using keyboards for creating drum track and I can't stand how slow and lame it is. I have excellent sounds, but the whole keyboard midi drum creation sucks to me. I am by no means a novice at programming. I earned a serious living in the 80's programming drums using Linn and MPC 60's.

Vocal Issue

Hey there. I'm currently recording songs with an AT3035 condenser and an EMU 0404 USB preamp. It's actually equipment I used to own but i'm now just borrowing it. I'm recording with the exact same computer I used to have it setup with and I never had problems in the past. The equipment works fine with the current owner but I'm hoping theres maybe just a setting I can change to fix all of this.

CD Quality Vocal production

I've recorded my wife's vocals over a karaoke backing track. I am a beginner when it comes to music editing, and I'd like to know what are the steps and best practices when it comes to editing. I'm using Mixcraft 5 as my DAW, and I just installed the trial version of Auto Tune which works with Mixcraft. I have two tracks: one is the backing track, and the other one is the vocal track.
