SM58 192 recording - EMU0404 USB or Audiophile 192 + Preamp?
Hi all! first time posting here so go easy on me ;) was just wondering if someone could help with a dilemma of mine...
Recently, my Creative X-Fi Platinum refused to record anything from the mic (SM58) without clipping/distortion:
Digi 192 HD I/O questions
I'm planning on upgrading from PT24 mix to PT192 HD next year. In the mean time, I will be using Sonar for some apps.
Could I use the 192 HD I/O as the interface for Sonar in the mean time?

output from UA 2192?
I recently just purchased a UA 2192 and had a question on monitoring. I have the outputs from the UA going directly into my monitors but the problem is that there is no volume control on the 2192 and it makes it very difficult to work with when tracking or mixing.

24-bit/192khz mixing console?
Hi everyone,
I'm looking to upgrade my mixing console in my studio. I want to get a console that is either analog (with firewire card) or digital that supports 192 kHz sampling. So far, I've only been able to find up to 96 kHz (other than the c|24 by DigiDesign, but I'm using Logic and FireWire).

Pro Tools Digi002 or MOTU HD192 Digital performer?
I cannot afford to get Pro Tools HD, I need at least 24 analog out in order to mix outside the box on analog mixer and using outboard gear
so my question is, is MOTU HD as good or nearly as good as PTHD? or at least is it way better thatn using a Digi002?
Thank u so much!
24/96 v. 24/192 MOTU
i am recording with MOTU 896 HD's at 24/192, and i want my cousin on the other side of the world to do bass line, we will trade hard drives
question: all tracks on my end- guitar, vocals etc- will be recorded at
24/192, but my cousin can only record the bass at 24/96 as he has older converters
can we do this? we are both using digital performer 5.0

192khz useful in home studio?
Is there any practical reason for a small, home studio to be using 192khz over say 96, or even 44.1? Is that high of a rate really needed or necessary?
Thanks!
