Ignoring the cost, does anyone have an opinion about the quality of MOTU's HD192 CORE vs Pro Tools HD equivalent? Software workflow? I had Pro Tools 3 a long time ago then switched to MOTU which is ok. Also AD converter quality? Its all 0's and 1's to me after the conversion.

Hi guys how does the MOTU HD 192 stack up with say other high end converters like the Myteks, Benchmarks, Lucid, Etc. ? Im looking for 8 - 12 channels of really high quality conversion in and out. are the 896 HD converters on par with the HD 192s? any information or suggestions would be great thanks. :D

My church want to have a system setup that is able to capture our various choirs performances, which will then be edited and burned to CD for sale.My budget is $4000.00 but out of this I plan to purchase an Allen & Heath GL2200 mixer $2500.oo and the balance $1500 for the recorder.

I'm thinking about a new sound card(i own a MOTU 2408 mk2). Now, i don't really know which one I should to buy between the MOTU 2408 mk3 or the new MOTU HD 192( why high definition, wath that mean?).. Someone told me, even if i work with 96hz with the HD192 the sound it's gonna be much better because the HD have better converters.

Has anybody here recorded any sessions at the higher sample rates, with a final mix yet? Just interested in the feed back of how it sounds.

Hi folks. I posted this here cos Greg seems to know about this stuff.

Last year on Digi's Pro Tools Forum (and a few here) there was a lot of debate re the claimed benefits of 96kHz. Some people even thought it was some kind of marketing scam, saying 48kHz was fine. (Didn't go for this myself).

Okay so these 3 cards are in my budget. Any opinions? I will be using them in a PC to record 1 or 2 track voice (spoken word) recording. Using Sound Forge software.

Since the new interfaces sound so good, what about keeping my Mix3 system w appogees at 48k and doing all the work then just have my Pt Mix room upgrade to the new PTHD. That way I keep all my plugins(which is alot) and do all the important editing them remove the drives and move over to the new HD system for mixing. Any thoughts?

I've opened Pandoras box>. Will this upgrade sell more records than before. No, but it will be fun getting new stuff to play with! I'll probable wait untill all the 3ed party company's issure their HD upgrade paths. I do think the reason the DH isn't backward compatable is because of pirated software.
