Description

Audio interfaces convert microphone and instrument signals into a format your computer and software recognize. The interface also routes audio from your computer out to your headphones and studio monitors.

It acts as the bridge between the music you create and your DAW (digital audio workstation). Audio interfaces often include built-in preamps, headphone jacks, and monitor controls, and they come in various types to accommodate Thunderbolt, USB, FireWire, Ethernet, and PCI connections. Plus, audio interfaces are available at several price points, from budget-friendly units to advanced professional models. If you plan on making music using a computer, you'll need an audio interface!

Audio interface compatible with Sun Solaris w/Sparc?

Its an odd question I know, but Im locked into the Sun Sparc to do some basic 4 channel recording. Are you aware of any audio interfaces that are compatible with the Sun Solaris OS which uses the Spark processor? I have found a Sun Hardware compatibility lists for Solaris but using Intel X86. It could be any interface, PCI, USB etc.
Thank you for any tips

reasonable audio interface for under $200

Hello All!

I use my PC for lots of entertainment, from watching movies, recording TV, listening to music, and I dabble in music production.

I'm looking for a reasonable audio interface for under $200 that will suit my needs but not give me buyers remorse shortly after the return policy expired.

What is the difference between an audio mixer and an audio interface?

If you think this is a stupid question, then I'm sorry for not knowing and just getting into recording.
But I just wanted to know what the difference was. I already have an audio interface (Lexicon Lambda) but I'm thinking about getting an audio mixer, but aren't they the same thing? Or what...
Thanks

4 mic audio interface?

Forums

I'm on a tight budget with a minimum wage job, shipping off to college this fall.
The college i'm going to might not have recording equipment, but after a semester or two i'll transfer to one that does.
Does anyone have a suggestion for an audio interface that'll let me record 4 (at least) mic inputs at once? Hopefully something that works with pro tools?

Why You NEED a Digital Audio Interface! (with clips)

I just got my FireBox back from the repair shop and I thought I'd do a little side by side comparison. I compared the sound quality of plugging directly into my computer's onboard soundcard and plugging into an interface so that newbies/home recorders/hobbyists can hear exactly what the difference is and can come to their own conclusions.
