When we right click on the AUX slot either in Track Editor or in Object Editor, 3 options appear: AUX/Output (Direct), AUX/Output (Pre) and AUX/Output (Post).

I know and understand very well about 'Pre' and 'Post', but I don't know what mens 'Direct'...

We've already discussed what people put or don't put on their master bus while mixing.
I personnaly don't put anything and I'm use to kind of blind guessing what the mastering process will do to my mix.

To keep an open mind, I want to try to mix with a compressor on the master bus, just to see if my mix will be different or at least if it's gonna help me.

on a lynda PT TUTORIAL, the guy there says that the most common way to DOWNmix is bounce to disk, BUT LATER the right way to make mastering is via the internal busing and recording a new track, he pass before recording via 2 aux tracks and use one compressor on first aux step and a limiter on the second aux step, do you share this workflow?

Hello all. I am so new at this, it hurts. :tongue: I'm using a Yamaha O1V96, and I need to have Aux 1 and Aux 4 be linked so that any channel changes I make to 1 are automatically reflected on the other. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Don

Hi everyone, my guitar track bleeds into the Auxiliary (effect) track on Cubase.
I am using a Phonic Helix 18 Firewire into Cubase.
So essentially, track 1 and 2 (guitar tracks) bleed into my track 15 which happens to be the effect track which I am running vocals and reverb through.
I just want to monitor the guitars, not have them bleed into what I am recording.

So, there are two major subjects thats I'm trying to wrap my brain around. In this case (as it very well may be in general) they are closely related:

1. Signal path, especially related to FX's (pre-fade & post-fade)
2. Using a noise-gate for optimum recording

I'm pretty new to recording. I record rap music n get beats from producers so I only have to worry about recording/mixing vocals. I use Magix Music Studio 12 Deluxe. Im having a hard time grasping the concept of how to set up aux buses. I want to avoid having to apply different effects to several tracks simply because its a pain and I don't want to slow down my program.

So it looks like the aux outs only work in stereo pairs in the m-audio software mixer

I wish i could have have 8 separate headphone mixes, or atleast 6 and then my main playback monitors in stereo

I would like to connect a Yamaha P155 Keyboard to an Apple Macintosh G5 using the keyboards' AUX OUT L+R outputs and the Mac's Mic IN inputs. I have read on these forums that one needs to know if the AUX OUT outputs are balanced or unbalanced. This is not mentioned in the keyboard's documentation.
