Beginner Home setup for soprano and piano

Hi,

I'm interested in playing around with recording my wife's audition CD's. we have already hired a professional to record her current CD and will be hiring another pro to record a full CD later in the summer.

I would like to get a few pieces of gear (minimal) and start to play around with recording.

Mixing while rehearsing with your band for beginners

I just ran into this article which describes mixing while rehearsing with your band for beginners. It's a good place start. But still it doesn't solve the problem of each person in the band pushing up their levels cause 'they can't hear themselves'... :-? It's never loud enough!

Beginner Recording Set-up

Hi everyone,

I've been wanting to make a proper recording studio in my house for quite a while now, the problem is, I don't really know where to start! I would like to produce electronic based music (synths, drum machines etc) but once in a while, I would like to do some acoustic stuff (I play guitar and I'm a singer - I would also like to use sampling on my songs with singers).

Quick audio interface beginner question

I'm looking for an interface that'll allow me to record- lets say a drum track-
and be able to see each individual mic as a track on my computer screen (i'm using Ntrack) and be able to raise and lower the volume and pans of multiple tracks with this interface
Would that have to be a midi interface?

I have a budget of under 400

Thanks for anything help
