Beginner, Budget...
Hi all, i've posted similar topics to this one already so sorry if i'm repeating myself but there are so many options to choose from and I want to get it right as i've only got one shot at it for now.
I have a budget of £1000 to spend on creating a small home studio and would like some pointers as to which software/hardware to purchase.

Mics for recording - $200 budget
I plan on recording myself on vocals, cello, acoustic guitar, maybe conga and tambourine with a Tascam 40GB 8 track. I'm seriously considering just getting two Shure 57s off ebay.
I'm also considering upright piano, but I'd need more than two mics for that, right? Thanks a lot in advance for any advice.

Monitors for someone on a budget
Currently I am using a pair of DX4s with my mbox2 setup because they were a. Cheap and b. sounded good for the price c. got the job done.
I have been told that I would get better results in my mixes if I upgraded to something slightly more expensive like the KRK RP-5's.

$3,000 budget to improve heavy metal vocals
I only record one guy- he sounds like static-x singer Wayne Static- go listen at http://www.myspace.com/aliveatmyfuneral . Listen to Lord of Worms and Flies. I know that these vocals can sound better- They were recorded through an Audio-Technica AT4040, using a PreSonus TubePre preamp, straight in to the computer.

a low budget alternative to Massive Passive EQ
Hello. I have a small project studio and usually i don't have any mastering on my projects mix - i know very pro gear are needed for that. The only operation i like doing is to insert a SPL Vitalizer in the main out channel of my Mackie 32-8 mixer, so that the mix sound is like... sweatened and rounded.
Budget Mic Preamps and compressors
I recently purchased a digi 002, and am working towards creating a small demo quality home studio. What mic preamps and compressors are out there that yield the most bang for the buck?

budget ribbon mics and the Brick DI
Hello!
I once heard a comparison between an old ribbon and a new sennheiser, on voice, and was quite taken away with the natural, non-hyped texture of the ribbon. Alwaz wanted to have one since.
Now, being a bit impatient as i am i was looking at this :

Best budget power amps?
I'm searching for an affordable quality power amp that can work with my Kustom KPC 15 speakers and Yamaha MG16 mixer.
Any suggestions?
So far I've found a Nady for $100 but I'm told its terrible. Also, I haven't ordered the KPC 15's yet, would it be wiser to go with powered speakers?
