I just completed writing one song using REAPER on XP with my MOTU Microbook. Towards the end REAPER started crashing and I used to lose unsaved work. Also I don't really like working with REAPER. I have decided to purchase another DAW.

I am planing on recording vocals of a male singing rap, r&b, and alternative rock. I also want to record acoustic guitar and maybe other sound effects from outside (maracas, rocks, tools, dings, etc..)

I want to buy specifically a condenser microphone.

HI I am shopping without a clue for christmas gift for my son who wants to be able to record his paying the drums- home by no means a professional studio. Can someone please guide me as to what is neededm without having to mortgage my house, yet not buying garbage either. Any advice is greatly appreciated. I'm in the market for new monitors. I'm not in a situation where I can easily go to a store and A/B pairs, so I've done the standard "read every last review and message board on earth" routine and landed on the JBL LSR4326P's. I land here for three reasons:

Hi everyone, well I'm looking to buy a mixer in a day or two. My range is upto $200. There are two options to me
1- Yamaha mw10c
2- Behringer 1204 fx mixer

I have decided to start out buying the PreSonus Firestudio interface for my home recording setup. Its cheap I heard it works great and its easy to use, which is awesome since Im a beginner. My plan is to start simple, figure out the basics and then upgrade accordingly as I learn more. Right now however I have a couple questions that need to be answered before I go spend $400.
