Nitrous and stereo linking compression
Hi. I have been salivating over the new compressor that you guys make called Nitrous. Am I to understand that two Nitrous can be connected togethr to make a stereo Nitrous for two channel linking compression?
If so, could you please explain in lay terms how this is done?
What I want to know is which one becomes the master? .Or is the compressing taken from both sides?

What goes first in the signal chain EQ or Compression?
I am sure that compression should be applied before EQ but I am not completely positive about it. This is my set up:
Microphone to MH3 chanel, ACP-88 to insert and then series to an EQ station, the EQ staion is after the compressor.
Can anyone help please?
Thanks.
BASS COMPRESSION?
Can anyone provide their general step by step for recording, mixing, and mastering Bass?
I know its generally a good idea to compress in stages - during tracking, during mixing, and at the mastering stage. Which ratio and threshold settings do you use at each stage? attack / release settings?

Multi-band compression
Is there a rackmount multiband compressor that one could possibly afford? Or can you only find this effect in plugin format? Is there a way to group some basic plugins together to create multi-band compression? I somehow think this question belongs on a different forum.

References considered during RMS or Peak compression?
Could someone correct any of my thinking here, and answer my questions also? Please read carefully and make sure you
understand the question before responding. If I am not making myself clear, I can make a 5 minute video and post it on YouTube and post a link to the video with me demonstrating and asking the question.
compression : to Side-Chain or Not?
I am considering getting the Neve Portico Compressor. It is the only high-end compressor I'll have in my home studio. I was originally considering getting a compressor with a High-Pass filter option or Side-Chain so that I can use the compressor to only compress transients and let the low end on drums and bass come through. But the Portico is a great price for a sound I have always liked.

Compression Breakdown!
Hey, so ive really been trying to improve my recordings. Ive heard EQ and Compression are HUGE when it comes to studio recording.
I really have a vague meaning of what compression is... Im using a firepod int cubecase LE so I'm using whatever compression it has.
Can someone break it down for me so i can really understand when and how to use it correctly. thanks.

Do i need compression allways?
When i do drums with fruity loops(that means with samples), i dont realy need copreesion for dynamic of drums. Right?
And when i like how (for exmp) kick sound and i dont need "extra punch" or something than i dont even need use compressor like a effect...
So is it possible to not use compressor on drums at all?

Compression of Vocals: RMS or Peak option
When compressing vocals(only vocals, seperate from beat/instrumental):
Using a plugin that supports the option of compressing using RMS or Peak;
For instance PSP's MasterComp
When would you use Peak, as opposed to RMS, and vise versa?
