Clean Vocals

Forums

Hey all, I'm kinda a newby to the pc recording world so I have a few questions. First a little background. I'm recording only vocals on a RODE nt1000 and using an old Yamaha Dsp Factory. My vocals are going down well, but after processing w/ reverb, eq, etc, I'm losing that clean sound, on CD it sounds over processed.

Clean Power Question

Hi all,
I am just thinking of getting something done with my power. I am currently using APC battery buckup (500 VA) and power conditioner to connect my main studio components (Avalon 737 preamp, Mackie hr824 monitors, PC, synths). My question is: will getting balanced power or voltage regulator units improve the quality of the sound?

Clean electric guitar micing

Forums

I have a Korg D12, and can get some nice clean almost acoustic sounds when going direct, but would liek to be able to get the sound I hear when I play through my amp. I use a single 15" sealed cab for my guitar. I really like the sound I hear when seated not far from my amp. What type of mic would be best for placing where my ears would normally be? I currently only have an SM-57.

Need Clean up UTL.

Ok..I may be getting paranoid..but I have a feeling that something has "leeched" into my computer from another site. I am receiving and sending out 3 times more bytes that what the properties of a web page consist of and the browser is s l o w . . . . . . . .

Usually my browser is fast.

I want to comb my hard drive for bugs, leeches, BS dialers..and the like.

How do you clean your console's surface.

Not just for dust, (we use a very soft paint brush for that) but for the hand and finger goo. (Sweat, and insert one of Fletchers four basic food groups.) Not that we allow any food or drinks near our desk but we do sometimes get in a hurry and forget to wash our hands, Duh! ;)

What type of cleaner do you use and what is the best method for getting around all the faders and pots.
