Okay, I have a question for all of you. Is there anything that compares (in quality) to the Alesis QS8.2. .but is cheaper?

My friend who is in the music industry wants an Alesis QS8.2. I was going to buy him one for Christmas. He had a fit and said that he would not allow me to spend so much money on a gift.

Would there be any difference in the mic preamps on the aardvark q10 compared to the PreSonus firepod?

Hi all,

I compared DP 3.11 to DP 2.72 and heard some suprising differences in warmth and detail. 2.72 was better. 3.11 was brighter, dryer, and lacked low-level detail.

I really want to demo another application to further my research. I have ther 2408MKII, so I suppose the application would need to be compatible with that as well as OS9.

Any suggestions?

I currently own an SP C1 mic.

I like it on a few sources, but overall it seems to impart a metallic sheen to the signal that can easily be overpowering on cymbals, mandolin, steel, and other instruments that are already rich in high frequencies.

I was wondering how the 8 channel JML preamp standes up to other pres like API's John hardy's and Great River 's. and are they a big step up from the sytek pre's?

How does it compare to something like the RODE NTK, ADK A51TC or Studio Projects T3? Is it a good used buy at £200 inc shipping?

Should it be an improvement for vocals over the C1, GT55 & RE1000 I currently use (I know voices differ)? Should I save for a new £350 tube like those mentioned above, or grab the used GT for £200?

how about comparing pro's and cons of a couple of daw's, for instance Pro Tools vs fairlight, soundscape vs nuendo etc. :w:

I was considering buying cubase, I saw it at Mars music store for $69, so I figured I would check out what users think about it.
Doesn't seem to be too many of you guys in this forum, is that because it is so easy to use you rarely have any problems?
I want to put out the best quality recordings I can, how does Cubase VST stand up to something like Emagic or Sonar?
