I’m hoping you'll have opinions/insights regarding the two computers (likely a desktop and a laptop) I’m considering for the following, slightly irregular voice-over circumstance.

I record onto an 8-track stand-alone recorder (Yahama MD8) records digitally through their analog mixer. It is an oldie, but a goodie, however as it is older, it does not have any kind of digital output. The only outputs are analog.

It really is a stupid question and one I'm not sure you'll know the answer to, but it bugs me anyway. I make a bunch of little MP3's of my own musical ideas and stuff like that, and occasionally I send a few to a friend back home that I used to jam with. The only thing is that they take ten to fifteen minutes to send.

I'm trying to record music from my casio keyboard to my computer using Ableton live version 6, but it won't record very well. it skips and has a delay of about half a second to a second.

I am a newbie at all of this but I am very interested in setting up my computer so that I can record a band with multiple tracks.

I'm not a recording pro but I'm heading off to music school in a couple months and I need a computer audio interface. I have a new macbook and I'm running Logic Express on it. My computer has no firewire ports so I need an interface that uses usb. I have a couple in mind but I want to here what more experienced individuals have to say. Thanks a lot.

schools almost out (got about 3 weeks left) and have applied for one job like 2 days ago, and there is a full time position available in a shop in town, of which i should almost definatly get.

well i plan to buy a new mixing table but i was just wondering if i needed that,considering that i've got great plugs in my soft (nuendo actually) and why not doing all the work with my computer and my sound card (m-audio 410) i compose for movies :ewqlo) and sometimes i sing directly in my soundcard with a studiov3 (art)
i know it sounds a little stupid but ..

ok, so basically I have recorded a song and I am was ready to upload to the computer. After I mastered it and made it a .wav file, i put in the usb cord and up popped the windows media player on the computer. It then said the file cannot be read. I need to update my drivers..etc..has this happened to any1 else? does any1 know how to solve this problem? thanks.

Hi, as of right now I do all my recording, mixing and mastering in my Korg D16. Right now, my budget won't allow to get an interface for recording on my pc. What I'd like to do is record on my Korg and then import my files via Orb disc to my computer for mixing and mastering.
