I'm a singer/songwriter whose looking to do some cheap recording (I know, I'm such a rare breed).
I've got the M-audio fast track USB interface, the accompanying Session software, a Sennheiser e835 (I think), and am about to get a Studio Projects B1.

Ok I'm getting the project mix for sure it's min. specs are:

Mac G3 800Mhz or
Mac G4 733 Mhz or higher
512 MB ram
Mac OSX 10.3.9/10.4.2
Mac 10.5 (Leopard) is not supported.

what is the 800Mhz? is it the Processor or Memory

Im looking to record 8 tracks at the same time and in the future 16 tracks via M audio octane.

After trawling the net to find a suitable daw computer I have come across a number of so called specialist daw computers at 3 times the price of a normal computer.

I have studied some aspects i.e. silent factors and what I need for proccessing speed and power etc.

hello all. i use a Digi 003 rack and would like to hear audio coming from my computers line out or my ipod through my studio monitors. i don't have a mixing board otherwise I would just run my 003 output and the computer/ipod to the board and plug the monitors into the main out. is there anyway to run a computers line out into the 003 so I could hear it though my monitors?

So here's my situation, right now I'm running adobe audition 3 recording software on my computer and i'm simply using a cheap computer mic to record my tracks. The sound quality is not all that great. So is there another way that I could go about doing this without using a cheap computer mic and also, without getting a mixer.

So, I have a bunch of ADAT tapes (mostly pairs, making 16 tracks) of unmixed music from the olden days.

I'd like to get these tracks into my computer for mixing on a DAW such as sonar,audition,vegas, etc.

Whats the best way of doing this? I no longer have the ADAT machines, but see that they are dirt cheap on ebay. I remember that they have an optical port...

HP m8530f Quad Core AMD Phenom X4 9550, 5Gigs RAM.
Memory Speed of 800Mhz
However, the HP m8530f has no PCI slots,
only PCI-Express(PCI-E) slots.

There is a PCI-E to PCI adapter availuable.

I'm experiencing a lot of lag problems using Cubase

I have a AMD 64 4000+ 2.41Ghz
With 2GB of Corsair XMS RAM
I'm running a Firestudio Project

I turned up the Firecontrol buffer to 1024samples
and I'm still getting a lot of lag, I'm assuming that it is a VST
problem

I was just accepted into a pretty decent Sound Recording Tech program in the Western New York area. I am having trouble deciding on my computer purchase for school, as I know I will want to be upgrading.
