Looking for a bit of help from one of the fine people on this forum. I record a podcast and have recently started having weird crackling sounds that I cannot figure out.

We use: Carol microphones -> Wharfedale EZ-m 20x2FX mixer -> ESI U24XL -> Macbook Pro. We use Audacity to record, and Soundtrack Pro to edit.

An electronic “crackle” ruins an otherwise fine track. I’ve spent hours trying to troubleshoot this and, so far, it’s winning. I don’t know what to do as a next step to banish this demon from my system. Any ideas would be appreciated. I’m desperate!

Hey everyone!

This is my first time on a music forum.

I received my new Adam A5 studio monitors two days ago. And immediately I started playing different kinds of music for hours to test them out.

My right monitor is beginning to crackle even at low volumes. Is this a normal part of the 'burn in' process or should I contact KRK and look into getting it replaced?

M-Audio Delta 1010LT
in combination with
M-Audio Delta 44

I am a bit of noob when it comes to recording, but I am very confused by my issue...

I am trying to record my acoustic guitar using Music Creator 5 and a SM57 mic.

I tested the mic levels and it does not appear they are clipping, although they sometimes look a little low. I tried different buffer values and bit rates, but neither solved my problem.

I have a ten year old Samson Servo 120 amplifier that developed an faint intermittent crackling in the right channel a few months ago. Some days the crackling would be there, some days not. Recently, though, the crackling has gotten louder and more persistent, and now it seems to have spread to the left channel. The crackling only occurs when sound is run through the amplifier.

I made a big mistake :roll: ! I placed 2 condenser mics in the same live room.
I was invited over to do some recording and found a small bedroom with no absorption on the walls, ouch! Some of the things we do to get out of the house.
