dynamic eq
Hi guys, which dynamic eq plugin do you guys like in VST or Directx? I've been looking for one in Nuendo and I can't find any, is there any in Nuendo's plugins or in the Waves 5.0 Diamonds?

Music in video is more dynamic than CD music
Browsing the iTunes video store, I noticed that the audio in the music videos always leaves about 7 dB of unused headroom compared to the audio-only counterpart. So I extracted the audio from a greenday video, normalized it to fill in the 7 unused dB, and compared it to the audio-only version.

TC Dynamic EQ--How does it sound?
This seems like an ideal tool to me for sound shaping. Has anyone used it who can attest to how it sounds? (I can't demo it because my Powercore is the old PCI version.) Thanks.

Pop music mixing & dynamic range
I'm getting a little ferklempt, I'll give you a topic...
Mixing methodology. How do we normally tackle the mix? Build up a drum mix, followed by bass, and up to guitars and vocals? Or start off with solo vocals / lead element at a certain volume (?), and bring up the other elements around that?

Beyerdynamic M160 for solo violin?
Would this be a good mic for recording solo violin? I can't help but notice all the glowing praise for this mic lately. Is it really as exceptional as people make it out to be, or is it just because ribbons are "in" right now? Thanks.

Mastering and Dynamic Range
I like my tracks to have a pro feeling to them, but I've been seeing that normally mastering audio engineers have to make louder music every time they master, so every time I have to make a master for a song that I'm recording I see that I have to reduce it's dynamic range more and more to compete with other "professional sounding" tracks because today when you record a song that isn't as loud

Beyerdynamic DT-880 Edition 2005
Does anyone own a pair of Beyerdynamic DT-880 and especially the new 2005 model? Have you noticed any differences between the older and the new model other than changed look? I’m planning to buy those but I haven’t got a chance to try them. I like the older ones but I’m curious to know if there’s done any kind of improvement for the 2005 model.

Valve Mic or dynamic mic for home studio
I have a groove tubes 67 valve mic that I use in my small home recording studio. I also have a groove tubes 'The Brick' tube mic preamp which I also use as an instrument D.I. The acoustics in my studio are not very good I need to add.
