i have enjoyed your posts on RAP for years. i am curious, do you regularly use any editing software (not a splicing block and a razor :-) ) if so what do you use ?

first off, if this is too 'off-thread' for the DAW world post, my apologies. .

i'm wanting to improve the overall quality of audio going to my DAW. while everything right now is squeaky clean, it just sounds soul-less (and no, it's not the music that's the problem! :p ).

I've been reading everyone's comments with regard to various different audio tools, learning about different capabilities from the web/magazines etc, and I have come to the following conclusions:

What is the most important Feature or features a DAW can have (or should have)? What do you look for in a DAW, what do you find to be the Key Feature that makes it an easy decision for you?
Is it reliability, Audio quality, feature sets( editing tools, Audio processing tools etc...) Versatility, plugins Company Support, future upgrade path, etc...
