naff mixing desk for live use on vocals

Forums

I have been asked to mix a load of hardcore/metal bands at a local live music venue however their in house guy isn't there. As such iv been banned from touching the in house sound desk. He has set up an input to the power amps so can plugin my mixing desk (its beringher 1222fX). The preamps of this desk are pants and ruin vocals.

My first analog mixing desk - suggestions?

Hi there,

I am currently looking at used recording consoles that could be used to mix down a whole band in rehearsals.

An 8 bus desk would be great, as it will be feeding into my Yamaha AW1600 for the moment. This records 8 tracks simultaneously.

A 24 track desk would be the ideal size and would offer enough inputs for what I'm looking at.

Tactile human being wants desk console not little rack thing

Hi,

Some background before my question:

I just purchased an Alesis ADAT HD24. I got a really good deal on it new. I didn't get the XR, because I don't care about 96kHZ recording. I am not scoring soundtracks for film, not producing or recording music for DVDs, etc. nor will I ever be. Don't need it or want it. CDs are still 44kHZ, and that's my focus.

Old School Desk - maybe 15 years old

Does anyone know where I can find info on or does anyone have info on the Inkel MX-1600 professional audio mixer with external power supply?

I own this model, bought it off my boss like three years ago - he was a welshman and had brought it to NZ with the ambition of setting up a production studio - never happened.

Studio desk suggestions!

So I'm about to complete my studio. I'm looking for an inexpensive studio desk/solution. I don't need a ton of horizontal desk space, so a BIG desk isn't needed. What is most important is elevating my computer monitors. What I'd like to do is get a desk that lifts the computer monitors and allows me to rack some of my gear beneth it. Here is an example...
