Mac input devices
I finally replaced the cheezy keyboard and mouse that came with my G4. No more noisy, sticky keys and no more puck! YAY!
I got a Microsoft Office Keyboard and a Microsoft Optical Trackball. These products were made for PC, and only come with PC software CDs, but you download the drivers and software for Mac off of the Microsoft site.

MAX/MSP and serial devices?
Anyone around here hardcore enough to program in MAX and/or MSP? There was a "review" (not quite) of the current versions in Recording magazine, and I thought I saw something about being able to address serial devices.

Devices?
On my linux box, besides the multitudes of old SB16 and SB32 cards I have laying around (my brother keeps finding old computers, and all of them have a sb16 in them), I use (at various times) a SB awe64, a SB 128, and my RMEdigi96 on my linux box.
The RMEsounds the best (duh!)
I use OSS commercial drivers. Less hassle, it seems.
