Direct box the Reddi by A-Designs

I just got the chance to use this live . I can say that it really helps rounding out the sound for the bass . My bassist loved the tone . I have other pieces of their gear and I'm very satisfied with all of it .

Any other people had any experience with this DI or any others . Would love to know what and how other people are using them .

I'm new to this site & I need help with a problem involving direct recording my amp.

I am trying to record my Line 6 Spider IV 320W combo amp by plugging it straight into my Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 USB interface from the Headphone/Out jack on the Line 6. I have actually, successfully recorded a few guitar parts in this way but it's really sketchy because it will randomly cut in & out.

Highly Directional Close up Microphone

Forums

would like to record specific audio for the following scenario. I have a piece of equipment that rotates a drum via an electric motor. The drum contains food product that is heated by air entering the drum. The food inside the drum cracks very lightly when it is fully cooked. The problem is that the cracks are audible, but barely.

how do i record directly onto a computer using aw1600?

I want to use my aw1600 to record directly onto my adobe audition on my pc. Is there any way i can connect my pc to my machine so that each track i want to record goes through the aw1600 first and then directly onto my computer. Basically i'm wondering if the computer can be used to control the aw1600.

Direct Injection box Grounding Theory

In a properly wired DI box, the shield of the unbalanced connection is wired to pin 1 of the XLR. Since the shield is signal-bearing, this would induce a voltage over pin 1 of the XLR line. A ground lift switch breaks this connection, but why would you want it to begin with? Wouldn't you always want your ground to be at 0V, and not carry a voltage during normal operation?

Signal Chain question: Recording Direct into DAW with Guitar Rack Preamp

I'm looking to record without Micing an amp or using desktop/software amp modelers. Would this be possible, correct to do this for signal chain:

Guitar > Guitar Cable > Guitar Rack Preamp (ADA MP1 or Marshall JMP1) > Stereo Cable > Apogee Duet FireWire Interface Line In > MacBook Pro > DAW

M-Audio Fast Track, acoustic guitar direct in, and Garageband

Tips/Tricks? I have a Martin with a fishman pickup. Maybe if I could just start there? What are some ideal pick up settings for recording? On the M-Audio I have the gain up to about 9 o clock. Anything below that and the sound is just too thin. But the downside is that I clip when I go to pluck the lower strings with any aggression at all.
