Recording Pro-Tools Mbox Outputs back Directly into the Inputs for a 2 Track. [Help!]

Hello All.

I have a Hardware Compressor, and a Finished Pro Tools Mix.

Now I want to Run the Finished Mix, Out From the MBox, Into a HW Compressor, then Back Into The Mbox[Inputs] (2 Track it).

But when I do it, I get a loud horrible signal and makes it pretty much impossible.

I have heard that this can be done, but I cannot achieve it.

Amp head direct to sound board?

I have an electric guitar with a pedal board of various stomp boxes. For a while now, due to convenience, I've been going direct to the sound board from the effects through a DI-box. The sound was not bad, but I sat down the other day and compared my direct sound to my sound with an amp, and it's convinced me to carry my amp around with me again.

Direct Inject

A D.I. or direct inject unit is a device that connects a high-impedance, line level signal to a mic-level device.

Usually a box, or less commonly a multi-channel racked or unracked unit, the box contains buffering circuitry that allows you to connect line-level equipment, or commonly, acoustic guitars pickup outputs, to consoles and studio gear operating at low-impedance mic level.

hi guys, i recently purchased a Lynx Two A sound card and SCA preamps. I am looking to record some guitars using Guitar Rig, but just wanting to know what cable i should be looking at to achieve the best signal.

Problem i am having is that the all of the inputs (whether it be the Lynx Card or SCA pres) are XLR.

Static when recording guitar by direct input! HELP!

This is really worrying me because I dont really know what the problem could be! I'll explain. The way that I record my guitars is by direct input. Direct input as in I take my guitar cable, plug it into a quarter inch jack, then plug it into my audio interface. That's really the only way I can do it because I just cant afford to upgrade right now.

Recording Bass Direct: Any tips?

Hi there,

I'm recording (and playing) electric bass for an album I'm working on. I'm a guitar player and have never recorded electric bass before. I've had good success Micing an acoustic bass but this is all new to me.

I've asked around and the general consensus is that recording direct is the way to go with my set-up (not having a bass amp and living in a townhouse). :)
