I'm looking to try a stereo room mic set up on the drums for an up coming session I'm doing.

Just wondering if anyone has expereience with this. I'm not sure weather to go with a coincident pair or a spaced pair. I don't have the ability to do a MS techniques.

Your help would be much appreciated.

I'm starting to record drums with two mics tomorrow (one dynamic above toms and snare and one condensor in front of the kit, I'm cheap like that). I was wondering if anyone has done this before and if anyone has any suggestions about the best way to EQ a single stereo track with all the drums in it. I'm trying to get it to sound fairly decent.

Hello,
I was just wondering if anyone has ever had any experience with the Shure's 6 drum mic package deal. What did you think of the sound? I would like to get some good mics for recording drums at a price that isn't too great ($300-$400). I have an SM57, a 58 and a pretty nice condenser mic (though the name escapes me). Ideas? I'm not too familiar with preamps, . but i need more than the 4 given preamps on my digi 002, so what are some good preamps with about 4 - 6 inputs on them...I'm lookin for some quality ones, not crappy ones

From what I've learned from browsing these forums and talking to people who know more than me about the subject, I've deciCDed to go with these mics for recording a standard drum setup into a Firepod:
2 RODE s NT3
a Beta 52A
and if I can streth my budget enough a SM57.

Is there a minimum SPL handling a mic should have before close Micing a kick drum? If so what is it?

Name the lot, over heads, bass drum.. snare ... and please.. please mention how many.. so say how many sm57's you use on the snare :P or how many over heads and where YOU PERSONALLY would place them
