One or two room mics when recording drums?
How many room mics are you guys using when recording a drumset ? where do you usually place them ?
I was thinking of buying a Soundelux as a room mic and use my AKG 414 b/uls as overheads. r do you guys believe its better to use two U195s as overheads and the AKG's as room ? Thanks for the imputs>

I'm buying drum mics.
I'm buying drum mics this month. .this is what I've decided on:
Snare: sm57 X2
Toms: Sennheiser e604 X3
Kick: D112
Should I be getting different mics?
I still need OH's. .I don't know what to use for that. I don't have much room in the budget, will samson's work ok? or some other cheap-o condensor?

Kick Drum Mic advice...
Hey guys, I'm about to enter the studio to record drums for my record. The thing is that the studio doesn't have the kickdrum mics that I'm looking for, and I couldn't find anyone to rent me a Shure Beta52. But some guy offered me a mic of the brand I guess it's K&K. the model is B07. .is it a good option?.
Thanks in advance :D

Mics and what drums to place them.
Ok guys...I'm having a breakdown. I have a band coming in with more drums than I have mics. Here is my mic list...don't laugh:
1- D112
1- Beta 52a
1- Blue 8 ball
1- Oktava MK-319
2- Oktava MC012
4- Shure SM57
Here is what I was going to do. .let me know if you think it will be sufficient:

Drum mic set
Right i'm looking to invest in a decent set of drum mics as part of a project studio, which is being steadily built upon with the intention of eventually renting it out. Now i'll have to admit i'm not very hot on drum mics, i usually use SM57's on snares and toms, and whatever designated bass drum mic and condensor overheads happen to be available.

time for new Drum overhead mics
Hey, I've been using the same drum overhead mics for every project I do myself or for others the past 5 years, and I think it's time to change it up. It's not that I dislike the sound I just don't want to have the same overhead sound, ya know. I have been using the AKG c430's matched pair for those five years and now I am looking for another sound.

Drums mics
Hey all, apologise if this has already been asked. Just curious what people favourite mics are for Micing a kit. I'm a fan of 57's on most things but I'm new to all this and would love to learn about a few other mics too.
Cheers
Jay

Do you use room mics to record drums ?
If so ? Where more or less do you place the mic or mics ? by this I mean distance from the source and from the floor.
What mics do you use (brand & model) ? and how many. Do you use Omnis, figuer 8, cardiods ?
Thanks alot!
