Really good mic for Kick drum on a budget
Ok. Sounds a daft question but I need to do an overhaul. Im after a really good sounding kick drum mic on a budget. I have had to sell a load of my gear to pay the deposit on my new house. Now I'm back on track so need to re-stock but have much less money.

Drum Micing Question
I recently got some drum tracks sent to me that were done at another studio. To my surpirise they sound great! Each drum was close miked with a room and an over head. Heres my question. . there was only one overhead on a mono track. How would i get my stereo drum sound from just this one mic?

Drum tuning tips
Grey, rainy, Saturday in Blacksburg, and so I thought I would play around with the tuning of the drum kit in the studio. I was looking at some tuning tips on line, and I thought I would open a thread and ask for suggestions. There is a lot of info on this topic scattered around the board, but not in this relatively new forum.

Casual-use drum mics?
We're going to start making some live multitrack gig recordings of the band with a StudioLive desk, but I want to start recording some rehearsals as well for listening back purposes later.

drum software - Ocean Way Platinum vs. Mixosaurus Kit
Okay so I know its sacrilegious to many a engineer here, but I've become a believer in midi instruments... Sorry Logic Studio won me over with its Indie Kit. So I'm planning on expanding my library. I've been looking at the drum software out there and was wondering if anyone has some hands on knowledge of a few of them. My decision is between Ocean Way Platinum and Mixosaurus Kit.
Drum and Vocal Preamps under $1000?
Which would be a good Multi-Channel (2+) Mic preamp under $1000 for
Vocals (Rock, Pop,RnB,) and Drums.
Ive heard about the Octane, Octopre, Focusrite TwinTrack Pro. ANy advice.
Will be using it with AKG C214's, MXL2006, Shure SM81, 57, Beta52.

Triggering Drum sounds in Digital Performer5?
Hey Guys, I was wondering if it is possible and how to let a snare soundbite trigger a snare hit in the Model12 plugin . I'm trying to find ways in thickening drum tracks with its corresponding MIDI track. I.e. a kick soundbite with triggering a Kick drum MIDI sample. I'm guessing it can be done with BFD, but can it be done in Digital performer with iys included plugin Model12?
