Ahh That phat aggressive but in control drum sound. How
Allright so here is my situation, I'm in the middle of mixing a tune and it's style is along the lines of Kid Rock/Crazytown but a little more of a live thing. I'm getting close to the drum sound that I'm hearing in my head, but not quite. So I was wondering if anyone might be able to suggest something different that I might not have tried.
Howdya get that washed out drum machine sound?
I've been wondering about the sort of sound where you know you're listening to a drum machine and it's crappy in a cool, fuzzy, fizzy lo-fi way.
That Primitive Radio Gods hit, "standing outside yada yada", is the most comercial example I can think of, but refence points for me would be the first Satchell album and the Twilight Singers album.
Sampling Drum Machines
ASRX-Pro vs MPC 2000XL
If anyone has used either one of these sampling drum machines or BOTH of them, your reply is very much appreciated.
Just looking for some positive feedback to push me over that last hurdle and make a purchase.

Thanks!
