Acoustic Drum Triggering
Anyone using this technology? I'm always doing it afterwards, with the "audio to midi groove template" in Logic, and then the NNXT sampler in Reason (Rewire from Pro Tools).. The "audio to midi groove template" works much better if you do a "telephone" eq to the snare and toms. Anyone having other ways of doing this?

Drum recording
When i'm recording drums i have a question
1. My overhead mics (2 SM-81) sounds great on cymbals but theres way to mutch snare leaking in.
When i'm mixin i cant turn them up as mutch as i would like to cause it raises the snare too.
Is the answer to compress them hard or gate ?
(Have the same problem on hi-hat also)

Drum machine?
Hi all,
I'm back with another drumming question. I've decided that I need to get a drum machine. I was hoping someone could tell me what is the best one to get. I need one that sounds really good, acoustic and electronic, and is not a bear to operate. I love knobs and buttons and hate programming but will do what I have to.

Looking for R & B drum samples
I'm looking for a collection of current R & B drum samples such as raindrop snares, vinyl snares, and vintage claps. I'm looking for that Tyrese, R Kelly drum sound. Also, if anybody has any advice about a good CD of reverse samples that would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Benny

Recorderman's Drum O/H setup.
I did my first major drum Micing the other day and used Recorderman's technique.
I had a hard time getting the over the shoulder microphone to be the proper distance from the kick when using the mic cable to measure..any thoughts on achieving this would be cool. I was only using one heavy duty mic stand with a custom 2 foot spacing bar that had the swivel extensions on the end...

Minimalist drum micing?
Anyone got any ideas on a minimal drum mic setup.
I'll be using a pair of C414's or TLM 103's as the overheads anyway, but only have a D114 kick mic and a pair of Shure dynamics left.
Not so minimal really, I suppose. Standard kit: two toms and a floor tom.

This is the first time I've posted a new topic to this forum, so take it easy on me, please. :D
So, what is you dream kit? Right now, I have a basic Tama RockStar five piece that I'm not very happy with.
Here's what I plan to do...
