drums in a small room
so what are your thoughts? who here gets good drum sounds in a small room and what is your set up? i have an okay sized room for drums.. its like 10x10 with a 7.5 foot ceiling. i know small rooms are not typically ideal but since that is what i am working with...what do you suggest for getting a big sound out of a little room?

Drums - Birch vs. . maple?
I'm looking to pick up a new drum set to replace the beginner's Westbury drum set I've had since I was a kid. It's going to be 100% for recording, and 0% for gigging. My price range is $1000-2000 CAD tops (ideally closer to 1000, not including cymbals, but probably more by the end).

Recording MIDI drums
Hi All,
I did a search for the subject I'm about to ask but no go. So here is my question: I plan on buying a electronic drum set that has MIDI outs and I would like to record the drums to MIDI so that later I can run the MIDI file with Drum kit from hell superior. Is there any program that will record your playing and save it as a MIDI file? Thanks

Recording Drums
I've got a very good drummer coming in three weeks to lay down some drums to a scratch track I've prepared. I've got a pretty good room (16 X 23 feet with a ceiling vaulted from 10 to 13 feet) and the following mics:
2 X SM57
Neumann U89
2 X Crown CM700
RODE NT4 stereo
AKG D112
2 X Audix D4
The kit is a nice Gretch 4 piece.

Recording drums via Alesis SR-16
I have an SR-16 which i think sounds quite good and am recording some Heavy Rock tracks using Pro Tools via my new POD XT Live.
(If you want to get great guitar sounds and a unit thats easy to program via Line 6 edit using your mouse so you dont have to keep reaching down to the floor to tweak nobs and punch buttons get one of these!)
