Hey, I'm a newbie here and let's just assume that I'm an idiot. Well, okay, I kinda am. Here's my setup and my request from you folks:

ALESIS HD24
ALESIS 3630 COMP/LIMITER
ART ELITE FX
NO patchbays

I'm noticing that recordings I mix sound good (even instrument levels, nothing sticking out in a bad way, etc) on many different systems when the EQ is left flat, but as soon as I play with the EQ it creates massive changes to the sound, (ie. certain instruments go away or become overwhelming). EQ adjustments on commercial CD's don't seem to have this problem in general...

Hey, I need some sounds urgently for a video clip and I have no time for foley production. Anyone know where I can get (free if possible) the following:

-ceramic breaking (as in a ceramic bust)
-metal pellets falling to the ground
-sword fighting sounds

I want to incorporate some of the hardware components that I own with my PT-LE rig but I am find that dealing with delay compensation annoying and time consuming.

I know other DAWs have native delay comp and it is also part of PT-HD.

How do fellow LE users deal with delay compensation and latencies that occur when using external hardware?

Hey i used this program Audacity and there this special effect named bass boost. Will a larger amp have more bass naturally?And am also curious how does natural reverb occur? I am guessing live reverb sounds Much better then software reverb correct?

Lately I have been forcing myself to only invest in things I will use and things that are useful to me, instead of falling for sexy descriptions and flash bang ideas of lust. It's hard, but I'm trying.

I recently started on producing and recording music. I've been reading a lot on this (and other) forums, but a lot of the information I've gathered on things like reverb, delays and recording settings have been a bit vague. I was hoping that someone here would take the time to answer a few of the questions I have:

Does anybody recognise the effect put on the voices in "Bohemian Rhapsody"?
It appears at the start during "anywhere the wind blows doesnt really"... I've heard that effect a million times.. does anybody know what its called?
