The effects sound different recorded

hey guys, i am using the vst plugin amplitube le, and I arm the track and press the monitor button and set the effect the way i want it, and it sounds great live. but when i try to record it, the playback sounds different, and undesirable. in order to hear the audio playing back, i have to depress the monitor button. Is something not routed properly?

Good Effect Work

Hi there,

I just wanted to know if it was good practice when using an effect to have the resultant volume out matched to the volume in.

The way I do it is on a digital desk and I send my instrument channel to an aux channel via a fader. In turn the aux channel feeds into the effect bus via a fader. The wet sound is then piped back into the mix via a volume pot.

Effects on bass drum to get that sound...

Hey, I was wondering if anyone can help me with something. (Besides tuning the drum [I already have, well] ) What is a good way to achieve that metalcore/hardcore sound on the bass drum? A good example of this is Jordan Mancino's drums on As I Lay Dying's last two albums. I love how they sound and work in the songs. What would I have to do to get a sound like that?

song dynamics without effecting volume?

Hi there! If you have a song that starts off dead quite say just an acustic guitar and a vocal and slowly builds to a full on rock herdling distorted guitar ending how do you still make the beggining of the track start load, volume wise, without loosing that quiet feeling. Iv heard similar effects on proffesional recording but am unsure of the clever remedy. Does anyone know the secret?

Peak levels question effecting average ?

I hope you can take a few min to help clarify this for me. I am new to recording and am trying my best to learn. I am recording into a digi002r/ada8000 using Pro Tools in my DAW. I have the snare, BD, sm tom, Med Tom, Fl tom, lt overhead, rt overhead miced. I have recorded the drums separately from the guitars bass and vocal tracks which were recorded through a GT Brick pre.
