I already have a fast computer, a pair of peavey AMR monitors and Tascam 8-track reel to reel, and some other small gear. My question is what do need and what about the hookup to make everything work.

This is less of a game than it sounds. I want to get a digital stand alone recorder that 1) has four simultaneous inputs 2) has 1 optical out so I can dump to Cool edit and 3) is really really really cheap. Any ideas?

I was reading various reviews on the Delta 66 at zZounds, and would like to know what you folks think of it? I want to record just guitar(acoustic electric thru an LR Baggs DI preamp, and use my Les Paul also), and record vocals with my Shure SM57 mic. I have read, and read forums, and I still don't completely understand exactly what I need. If I get the Delta 66, what else will I need?

I was getting a few items and it's been a while since I've kept up with some of the new equipment out there so I was just wondering what you guys think of the following:

Sennheiser e845 3-pack mics

A lot of questions have been asked regarding sound quality of various pieces of equipment. We (the mods) are asked if this compressor is better than that compressor and is this recorder better than that recorder, what mics will do what.

Let's hear about projects you have done with almost no gear that turned out so good it surprised you. I'm sure there are lots of war stories about this subject. I would also like to hear your opinion as to why you think it turned out so good... Hint; this topic is related to the "What are you recording and why are you recording it?" thread
