What Sample Rate/Bit Depth do you guys record with?
Sorry if this has been discussed.
Just curious. What bit depth/SR and why?I just Read the interview in TapeOp (Marc Aubort, nice article!) and it got me thinking..He still records at 16 bit. Ethan Winer does too, if I recall correctly.
DPA Acoustic Pressure Equalizers and Grids
I just bought a matched pair of DPA 4006-TLs with the acoustic pressure equalizers and grids (thanks to Mike at Vintage King Audio). My initial intention is to record a hand-made German 7'2" grand piano in a small live room. I just received the set and havn't started experimenting (will start this weekend).

Monitor placement issues, sweet spots, etc.
Feel free to direct me if there is a post about this somewhere; I coudn't find it. But I have been wondering recently about monitor placement. Can the angle you point your monitors and the distance they are from eachother affect phase issues like comb filtering? I would expect so.

HOW TO ADJUST THE LOW END
Hi i have a song which i had been mixing for quite a while now. the level adjust of each an instrument is okay u can actually more or less hear each and everything. However the finshed product always is duller and less loud than from the "reference songs" i have chosen or any song for that matter which i heard in the same room.

Requesting tips on removing noise.
Hiya,
I always find noise from cpu fan seeping blatantly into my recording. I am recording through Pro Tools digi002R and into a power book. My room is small - around 6' x 7' with a sloped ceiling between 7' - 9' - and recording in another room is not only a hassle, but a technical and logistical challenge!

Monitor speakers and room size... a disheartening dilemma!
I'm putting together a bedroom studio and was at first thinking about getting the KRK V6 MKII's for my near field monitors new at guitar center... Then I saw that I could get a set of legendary Mackie HR-824's used on ebay for about the same price ($700 range). My main reservation is that my room might be too small for speakers of this size.
New Studio
Hi all, New to recording.org here so if I missed a link I'm sorry. Ok, heres the deal, We are ready to open a new studio and we are stoked about it. We found the building, we have all our software and a lot of the hardware. The main concern we are running into now is picking out the proper mics.

Need your opinions about which powered monitors to buy
Hello all,
I'm in the market for new monitors... I'd like to get powered monitors this time around. I currently use Event 20/20 passives with an Alesis RA150 poweramp.
The Events have pretty flat bass response... i know that is generally desirable, but I'm doing dance music and I'm finding that when I bounce down out of Pro Tools my subs are out of control.
Project Studio Monitoring System EQ Woes
You know…
I’m really at my wits end, here. Everything I produce in my project studio sounds too bassy when played on other (less costly) systems. I could draw an obvious conclusion, here…that my studio’s monitoring system isn’t properly calibrated across the audio spectrum, but I know that’s not the case.
