RME fire face, DIGI 002, MOTU 828 mkII

hello, I would like to ask everyone here about those three companies' sound cards/audio interfaces. Please give me your opinions on these three. 1. Quality of their converter 2. Their compatibilities with other softwares 3. Quality of their Mic preamps 4. Which one would you chose and why? I am looking to buy one of these. I am on Mac G4/Logic Pro.

Thanx Y

MOTU 2408 mkII vs 828 mkI Help

I just got a g5 and so I need to upgrade my 2408 mkII system with a 424 pci card. My question is for about a little more than the cards price I could get the first generation 828 firewire interface and be able to sell my 2408, so would that be a good idea? Is the quality of the 2408 mkII better than the 828 mkI? I do like the idea of using the 828 with my laptop. Thanks for all help!

01v & MOTU 828 mkii or Tascam FW-1884

In the near future I will be upgrading some of my daw hardware to add more inputs and a dedicated control surface so, I can stop mixing with a mouse and move up to some better and more reliable gear. I think that I have narrowed this down to, 2 possible solutions and would like to get a second opinion from you guys.

Firewire interfaces

Has anyone heard of or had any experience with the RME Fireface 800? Last year, just as I was narrowing the gear list down of what to finally buy, I decided I'd wait a while and see what other systems/solutions developed. I've hardly been online in the past year to keep up with the latest innovations. I did feel somewhat trapped with PTLE and needing to continue down that road.

Mackie preamps and firewire interface

ok so i had pretty much decided to go with a MOTU 828mkII with an m-audio octane for connecting 8 drum mics! for live i'd use my Behringer 2004's 4 of 8 preamps ! it has a main output and an alternative! i'd connect mics to 4 channels and pan them hard right and left! then i'd send from the outputs to the direct ins of the 828mkII.
