Reformatting drive, suggestions?
I posted in a computer hardware forum, so I suppose I'll post it here too.
I think I'm ready to reformat my harddrive to do a clean install, but I need a few opinions.

Adobe Audition file format and record quality
Hi,
Just started using Adobe Audition 1.5 and not sure what file formats to use.
Is WAV a better source as there are more bandwidths available or is MP3 status acceptable ?
Also - How easy is it to use a pre-amp into your pc soundcard to "lift" the quality of vocal recording ?
Anything will help.
Cheers

(for more than 20 to 30 seconds) I've seen a lot that will let me do that intill i buy the real program and I need one thats free.
Current mastering formats and mastering software questions
So 16 bit DAT is all over. Recently I've been running my mixes onto 2 tracks on my RADAR and transfering them to computer to top and tail them before handing them to the client as 24 bit WAV files. Mastering engineers seem to be happy with that. Is that the best current format?

Converting Records to Digital Format
Recently I have been asked to convert records to CD's.
The record player I have has a line out that I run into my IMac G5.
I am using Garageband as my recording software for ease of use.
