Formatting audio drive?
I've been spending all morning trying to format my audio drive. I've been trying to do it using win2k's administrative tools, (FAT32 with 64k clusters). Everything seems to go alright untill it's done formatting (takes forever) when it tells me the volume is too large.
The drive is a WD120GB.

Formatting Secondary drives in XP
Ok guys.
Important update that I put on my tweak guide.
This pertains to formatting the secondary drive within XP.
It's important to format them as EXTENDED partitions and NOT PRIMARY!

NTFS formatting help
So my audio drive is currently FAT32 and separate from my system drive, which is also FAT32. Because Logic does not like FAT32, I have been trying un-successfully to format to NTFS. I was also unsuccessful converting to NTFS, but I really want to format vs convert. I've had no luck working from XP or a command window. The following is the message I get:

Jeff Trott in 5.1 Surround Sound format!
Have you guys heard Jeff's new album, DIG UP THE ASTROTURF? It's the first album recorded in 5.1 Surround Sound format. It's incredible!
Jeff's been co-writing and performing with Sheryl Crow for many, many years. "My Favorite Mistake" and "Soak Up The Sun" are just two examples of their work together.

DA-88 format/timecode
I know this is basic stuff to most of you, but I need to format a tape with timecode on my DA-88 with the SY-88 installed. Do I first have to "format" the tape as stated in the DA-88 manual and then stripe the time code? Or will striping timecode on an unformatted tape, format the tape?
Thanks.

Bypassing the Roland VS compressed audio format
I bought a Roland VS-840EX several years ago and was wondering whether I can bypass this machine's RDAC circuitry? I was thinking that if I plugged my mic preamps signal through the 840EX's EXTERNAL INs jacks I would then bypass the machine's main inputs.

Digital Output Format?
Several months ago, I purchased the PreSonus Digimax 8-channel preamp. I am pretty thrilled with the results, however...I spent a fortune ($1,600+ US). Now I hear that PreSonus had released the Digimax LT with very similar features for around $800. The main differences revolve around the digital outs.

EXS 24 Format Sample Libraries
I'm Curious how other Logic user producers are doing with the massive task of converting existing sample libraries to the EXS 24 format. I love the filters and the convience of having sample sets come up automatically within the Logic file, although the process of getting my thousands of sounds into the format is obviously going to be tedious...

Mastering formats
My band is ready to hand off our self-produced CD for mastering. Several of us have done recording projects before, but they've all been provided to mastering on DAT; this time around, the whole record has been done (and kept) in 24-bit on a PC DAW.
